Occupational Therapy is a type of healthcare that helps to solve the problems that interfere with a person’s ability to do everyday tasks such as bathing, getting dressed, feeding, cleaning up, going to school and participating in family and community activities.
We can help with:
- Fine motor skills so they can grasp, release and play with toys which are the beginning skills for using a pencil.
- Visual motor skills so they can track an object using hand-eye coordination which will aid them in building with blocks, reading a book, batting a ball and copying from a blackboard, etc.
- Coping Strategies, Self Regulation, Social Skills, etc.
- Assess the need for specialized equipment such as wheelchairs, toileting equipment, seating and positioning.
